PHOTOS FROM THE AUSTRALIA N STAGE PRODUCTION OF JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR (1972-1974)

Compare and contrast with the symbolism in the film version of Superstar (from the previous video clip) and more generally see how the presentation is much simpler but more symbolic and imaginative than the sets in the mainly descriptive Jesus films. The question can be asked: Is the symbolism, drama, intrigue and imagination in the stage production of the rock opera closer to the original dramatic gospel genre than the descriptive 'realism' of many of the Jesus films?
